“What are your plans after high school?” the counselor asked.
Most of the houses on our block were nothing more than concrete foundations when we moved in.
When the workers left each day, it was time to explore.
One day, I found a map.
“I’m going to Cal Poly to study architecture.”
As I examined the rolled pages, I realized they showed the workers how to build the house.
“With your GPA, you’d have to score in the top 10% on your entrance exam just to qualify for admission.”
I decided to become an architect while gazing at the field where Rolling Hills Junior High would be built.
I watched the buildings grow from the ground up, and I understood that everything depended on a set of drawings.
I liked to draw. And even better, I was good at it.
You know what else I was good at?

Fun Fact: Reliance on test scores is another reason school sucks.
I graduated from Watsonville High School in 1973 with a 2.46 GPA and went to Cal Poly that fall.
Context: From 2002 to 2015, the Mac Lab was in Room 246.

We spent a year in temporary classrooms while the spaceship was remodeled.

Room 219, nice as it was, never felt the same.

Fun Fact: 2 + 4 + 6 = 2 + 1 + 9 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 (037)
Graduating class murals wrap around the school’s interior ring.

020726: Just added Map 246 (discoverable at Level 20). There’s no content (yet), just locks and keys.

Playing with an idea (planted in another quest). More of a proof of concept than a promise of things to come (at this point).
Featured Image: The butterfly was concept art for Dream Yet Complete. My first encounter with Illustrator’s Pen Tool (last century). The mockup is obviously Photoshop (this century). It needs weathering. And maybe analog-ish dimensions.
